A little dream that grew into something bigger

Hi, and welcome! I’m the Mama Bear behind Roscoe Woods Village, and I’m so happy you’re here.

I’m a mom to two little bears who are my whole world and my greatest inspiration. I’ve always dreamed of creating a childhood for them filled with nature, curiosity, meaningful connections, and the freedom to simply be kids. Homeschooling was always something I envisioned for our family, and as my daughter grew older, I began to feel that it was time to turn that dream into something real.

I shared the idea with a few friends, and they loved it just as much as I did. What started as a dream for my own children slowly became something I wanted to share with other families, too.

And so, Roscoe Woods Village was born.

Where childhood is meant to wander

At Roscoe Woods Village, we believe some of the best learning happens when little hands are busy, little feet are exploring, and little minds are free to wonder.

Our vision is to create a nature-inspired, play-based community where children can explore the world around them, discover new interests, get their hands dirty, create, imagine, and learn at their own pace.

From exploring the changing seasons to planting seeds, creating nature-inspired art, and discovering the magic of we grow it, we eat it, we want learning to feel like an adventure.

Of course, the ABCs and 123s have their place, but so do muddy hands, new friendships, curious questions, and the confidence that comes from figuring something out for yourself.

We want our Little Bears to feel free to be themselves, to grow in their own time, and to leave each experience excited to come back and discover what comes next.

Because childhood isn’t a race, and every little bear deserves the space to grow in their own way.

It takes a village

They say it takes a village to raise a child, and we believe that wholeheartedly.

But we also know that everyone’s village looks a little different. Some families have a whole community around them, while others are still searching for their people.

At Roscoe Woods Village, we hope to bring those people together.

We want our Little Bears to build friendships that grow alongside them, and our Big Bears — the parents who walk beside them — to find friendships and connections of their own.

A place where parents can lean on one another, share the beautiful and sometimes messy
parts of raising little ones, and know they’re not doing it all alone.

Our hope is that we grow together as a community, united by a love for our children, a respect for their individuality, and a shared belief that childhood deserves time, freedom, and room to flourish.

Because sometimes, finding your village is just as important as helping your little one find theirs.

Growing together, one little adventure at a time

More than anything, I want Roscoe Woods Village to feel like a place where your family belongs.

A place where your child feels welcome, where their curiosity is celebrated, and where every
little discovery matters. A place where you can watch your child grow in ways both big and small, knowing they have the freedom to explore and the support of a community cheering them on.

Whether you’re joining us for Forest Fridays, The Woodland Workshop, or another little adventure along the way, I hope you leave with happy memories, new connections, and something special to carry home.

And I hope you always know that you and your Little Bear are welcome here.

I’m so happy you’re part of our village.

With love,

Valerie
